چکیده

Abstract Background The cytotoxin-associated gene A ( cagA ) is one of the most important virulence factors Helicobacter pylori H. ). There a highly polymorphic Glu-Pro-Ile-Tyr-Ala (EPIYA) repeat region in C-terminal CagA protein. This thought to play an role pathogenesis gastrointestinal diseases. aim this study was investigate diversity 3? variable and amino acid polymorphisms EPIYA segments , their association with gastroduodenal Methods total 515 strains from patients 14 different geographical regions China were collected. genomic DNA each strain extracted amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PCR products sequenced analyzed using MEGA 7.0 software. Results 503 (97.7%) -positive 1,587 motifs identified, including 12 types or EPIYA-like sequences. In addition four reported major segments, several rare (e.g., B?, B? D?) defined 20 sequence ABD, ABC) found our study. 481 (95.6%) carried East Asian type CagA, ABD subtypes prevalent (82.1%). Only 22 Western which included AC, ABC, ABCC ABCCCC subtypes. CagA-ABD subtype had statistical difference (P = 0.006). seven sequences surrounding motifs, among acids 893 894 gastric cancer 0.004). Conclusions study, studied depth. Chinese population, its presence associated Amino at residues flanking statistically significant cancer.

A new subtype of 3' region of cagA gene in Helicobacter pylori strains isolated from Zhejiang Province in China.

AIM To isolate the subtypes of 3' region of cagA gene in Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) strains from Zhejiang Province in China and to investigate their relations to H pylori-associated gastroduodenal diseases. METHODS One hundred and thirty-seven H pylori clinical strains were isolated from the gastric mucosa specimens of 74 patients with chronic gastritis, 61 with peptic ulceration, and 2 w...

VacA and cagA genotypes of Helicobacter pylori isolated from raw meat in Isfahan province, Iran

Foods with animal origins play a substantial role in the transmission of Helicobacter pylori. The present investigation was carried out to study the vacA and cagA genotypes status of H. pylori isolated from various types of meat samples. Two hundred and twenty meat samples were collected and cultured. H. pylori-positive strains were analyzed for the ...

study of the caga gene prevalence in helicobacter pylori strains isolated from patients with upper gastrointestinal disorders in iran

introduction and aims: helicobacter pylori commonly is associated with gastritis: but only sometimes it causes clinically significant diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcer. the development of disease depends on the virulence of the infecting h. pylori strain, the susceptibility of the host, and environment co-factors. the cytotoxin associated protein encoded by caga gene is an important v...

Clarifications regarding the 3' repeat region of the cagA gene in Helicobacter pylori and clinical outcome.

In a recent issue, Rota et al. (2) reported a study regarding the 39 repeat region of the cagA gene of Helicobacter pylori in which they classified the cagA 39 region into three types (A, B/D, and C) according to our previous report (5). They reported no association between 39 repeat region subtypes and clinical outcome. However, multiple subtypes of the cagA repeat region were associated with ...

Analysis and typing of the vacA gene from cagA-positive strains of Helicobacter pylori isolated in Japan.

Approximately 50% of Helicobacter pylori strains produce a cytotoxin that is encoded by vacA and that induces vacuolation of eukaryotic cells. Mosaicism in vacA alleles was reported, and there are three different families of vacA signal sequences (s1a, s1b, and s2) and two different families of middle-region alleles (m1 and m2). In addition, the vacA genotype of a strain is associated with its ...
